Dunaway Foundation

Where Nature Inspires Art

For over 100 years, Dunaway Gardens has been a haven for dreamers and creative inspiration. The female-founded Dunaway Foundation was created to preserve, nurture, and continue the legacy of Hetty Jane Dunaway, focusing its social impact efforts on programs that help cultivate the human spirit. Through programs that make arts education accessible and a commitment to land conservation, the Dunaway Foundation expands minds and protects the well-being of our guests, local communities, and planet.

Debbie Allen Dance Academy

Uplift the Community

The Dunaway Foundation is proud to partner with the Debbie Allen Dance Academy (DADA) to expand the accessibility of performing arts with a focus on disenfranchised Black and Latinx youth, as a means for developing creativity, self-confidence, and discovering a path in the arts.

DADA offers comprehensive ballet, modern, and tap dance instruction by world class faculty and staff members to students as young as four years old.

The Academy will begin sharing this art form with local underserved communities and empowering young dancers by offering three 6-week sessions in its first year of operations at Dunaway.
